So you're try to write a fanfic where one of the main characters is an OC. And this OC isn't some powerless earth pony, either- maybe it's a unicorn with an entire library of tricks up his/her sleeve, or a alicorn with an armory of godlike powers! Surely a character like that would have many powers the reader would need to hear about- but how would you introduce them?

Would you list their equipment and abilities at the beginning, or do you try to introduce them as they become relevant? Do you try to reference the character learning the abilities as you go along? Whatever your technique is, what do you do to try to make it seem fluent?

PS. No, I'm not trying to ask for advice personally, I'm just curious how other fanfiction writers introduce their OC's abilities.

Though I have a system of if they have more then one power there over powered. This is my view. Well doing other mindless unicorn/alicorn stuff is fine. But they should only have abnormal skill. i.e Luna raises the moon. That's her one skill.

Though I'm not a big fan of alicorn ocs anyway...

Well, I have never really writtien MLP stories, but I would introduce powers as the story progress. It shows the character's growth and what not.
